INFORMATION FOR (SIG) SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS - 2008

If any one is interested in learning anymore or signing up for these following classes contact the designated person.

NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO SIGN UP EARLY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING ONE OF THE SIG CLASSES
(Note: SIG Classes are filling up, but there are still a few spaces, mostly in the intermediate and ring classes.)


Dichroic Glass

Dichroic classes will again be taught this year. Students will learn about glass fusion and then assemble 3 pendants.
They will be provided with all tools necessary during the class.
A quarter sheet of glass - top and bottom and enough dichroic will be given to all students for them to complete additional projects.
Second class will explore routing of pendant or other finishing examples.
Cost of Material is $20.00. Class cost is $15.00. Total cost $35.00

Chain Making - "Beginner"
Beginning Chain Part II will be taught Monday March 10, 2008 10a.m. to 12 Noon,
Wednesday March 12, 2008 10a.m. to 12 Noon,
Friday March 14, 2008 10a.m. to 12 Noon.
The class will be at West Center in the Chain room.

Wire Wrap Dates for 2008
* Beginning Wire Wrap Techniques SIG class, Monday, January 21, 2008 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
at Casa Paloma 2 Center's recration room.
Cost is $25. Bring tools and a lunch.
Make checks payable to Green Valley Lapidary Club. Note: Chain making class is a prerequisite.

* Intermediate Wire Wrap Techniques SIG class, Wednesday, February 27, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
at West Center, Room 2.
Cost is $25. Bring tools and a lunch.

* Advanced Wire Wrap Techniques
To all club members: Advanced Wire Wrap Techniques SIG class will be offered March 19th, 2008 (10:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.)
at Ashley Furniture on Duval Mine Road. The total cost of the class is $50, $25 for the class and $25 for the cost of materials.
* Beginning and intermediate wire wrap SIG classes are prerequisites & current Lapidary Club membership.

Intermediate Chain SIG Class
Students must be willing to help teach beginning chain classes.
The class will be offered 2 times Feb. 23, 2007 3:30 - 5:30 room A Desert Hills
Mar. 23, 2007 3:30 - 5:30 room A Desert Hills
Cost of class will be $15.
Items to bring to class: cut rings (sizes below) pliers clasps Chains to be tought and ring sizes for chain.
Columbus 18ga. 5mm Double Millipede 16ga. 6mm and 18ga. 4mm Redux 18ga.
6mm and 4mm Non Parallel 18ga. 5mm Soldering of end rings will also be tought.

If you need wire, Sandy Schuette orders wire for Club members.
Orders for wire must be at East Center Shop before the last Monday of the month to be ordered that Month.
