The Desert Hills Shop is located on the upper level
adjacent to the GVR Clerk's office.
The head monitor is Duncan Creed. Shop hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
on Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to Noon, on Saturday.
This center conducts classes in Silver Smithing - Making
mounting for stones and then mounting,
Casting - Making molds to make wax patterns, making patterns, making molds,
then melting metal and pouring to get the finished jewelry and Channeling
- Making
frames for stones then cutting stones to insert in the frames.
Artisans jewelry is made available for purchase and
displayed in cases for your conveniennce.

teach you some of its complexities.
" Delft clay casting system- We haven't discovered its secrets yet,
but will shortly. It eliminates the lost wax process in casting and
is for fairly simple pieces.
" Watch band pin remover for frictional pins.
" Stepped loop- making pliers
" Stone crimping pliers
" Stone carving wheel-1/4 inch
" Flat sanding belt.
" 4&6 thin kerf trim saws.
" Dapping blocks for making curved metal shapes.
